Motorola Hints at Razr HD Launch in Sept. 5 Event Invite

The words "On Display" is featured prominently at the top of the invite, and likely alludes to a higher-resolution screen for the Razr HD, Motorola's follow-up to its Droid Razr.

The new high-definition phone would be the first Motorola device with a 720p HD to be part of Verizon Wireless on their 4G LTE network, reports Android Community.

Numerous leaks have speculated HD's specs, including the possibility of a 4.5-inch 1280 x 720p Colorboost HD display, on-screen navigation buttons and a possible 8-megapixel rear camera, the site said. It is also rumored to run on 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The phone would be a step up from its regular Razr. Launched in October 2011, the original is 7.1-millimeter thin, features an 8-megapixel rear camera and has a 1.2 GHz processor, as well as 1 GB of RAM. It also has a 4.3-inch super AMOLED advanced QHD display.

Motorola recently launched its Atrix HD on AT&T and is releasing the Motorola PHOTON Q 4G LTE for Sprint on Sunday.
